History

Thirty years of basketball, funding the next thirty.

MABA Stadium was the home of the domestic game from 1995. By the 2020s a leaking roof and failing cooling had made it untenable. Rather than patch it, the association converted the land into a permanent revenue base for the sport.

It is a joint development, not a land sale. MABA is reported to receive around RM170 million, with roughly RM120 million earmarked to buy back units inside the towers and hold them for recurring income — reported at about RM6 million a year. A new MABA headquarters with a 3×3 half court sits within the building.

For a buyer that matters for an unglamorous reason: the landowner stays in the building as a long-term owner of stock, rather than exiting at completion.
